With Sherman Irby at Jazz Camp West.

I'm a lifelong musician.  In youth, I studied cello, piano, and percussion.  I sang in every choir in high school.  College and early career meant a break, but I kept playing piano.

I've sung with the Cinnabar Opera chorus, Marin Opera chorus, Sonoma State's Bach Chorale and its Jazz Ensemble, Marin Urban Harmony, a madrigal group, among others.  I've played percussion at Cinnabar Opera (even the wind machine) and with a samba group in San Francisco at Carnaval.

For the past many years I've attended JazzCampWest and taken classes at the Berkeley Jazzschool.  For years I studied voice, but have added flute because I love Latin and Brazilian music.  I also attend the acoustic California Coast Music Camp, an amazing community of old timey, blue grass, and swing players.  Thanks to them I have started a Ukulele Club, and oversee its Yahoo Group, Petaluke.

I've played flute with a blues and jazz group centered in Petaluma. I'm also in the Petaluma Community Band, which plays from classical music to Sousa to Ellington.

Other participation includes the Threshold Choir, which prepares and arranges singers to perform for those who are suffering or dying.
I also serve on the Board of Directors of Mother Lode Musical Theatre, which produces original shows that are based upon historical events and circumstances, such as the encounter of the Miwoks with Sir Francis Drake, and the Californio celebration of Los Posadas.

People I've studied with include:
