Songs from the Muse
My first song came full-blown, and they continue to arrive in that manner in most cases. I was staying at an hotel in Los Angeles, something out of a 1940s film noir, when I awoke in the middle of the night with the lyrics and music to "Gassy Woman." When I arrived at California Coast Music Camp that summer, I invited a student guitarist to back me up. The next week teacher Keith Greeninger stepped in. Since then at camp I've been known as Gassy Woman. I'm in the process of creating a video to accompany the audio of various camp performances. The first lines of "the" song:
Got dressed one morning, couldn't fit into my suit
Checked on a diet, it said "fiber, beans, and fruit...."
An anthem vegetarians and those middle-aged and over can best appreciate. You can hear this song and others at my Youtube channel, Ukestasz.

Since then, other songs have "emerged," including one about Americans love for capital punishment, a new take on the Adam and Eve story, a lullaby, and a tango love song. Since taking up the ukulele, I find myself developing songs as a result of noodling around.
