Teaching
After such knowledge, what forgiveness?  Think now
History has many cunning passages, contrived corridors
And issues.
--T. S. Eliot
I'm happy to be retired, but I do miss teaching and regular encounters with students. As a result, I welcome opportunities to be in the classroom again.

During July, 2007 I taught several sessions at the National Endowment for the Humanities workshops for K-12 teachers on Jack London held at Sonoma State University.

During the Winter 2007-8 (mid-January to early March) session of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Sonoma State University, I gave a course on California Woman's History. The material was based on my current book in preparation. Contents started with the first human arrivals around 13,000 before the present, and examined how women lived, adapted, and contributed to what is now the State of California.

On January 19, 2008 I was be the keynote speaker at the annual banquet of the Jack London Foundation. My talk addressed recent discoveries about London and his life that are likely to surprise even the most knowledgeable afficianados.
