The Muse is insistent
In youth, I studied cello, piano, and percussion. I sang in every choir in high school. College and early career meant a break, but I kept playing piano.
I've sung with the Cinnabar Opera chorus, Marin Opera chorus, Sonoma State's Bach Chorale and Jazz Ensemble, Marin Urban Harmony, a madrigal group, and at the bedside of the dying, among others. Most recently I do weekends with an early music group, Renaissance Singers Retreat and manage their website. I've played percussion at Cinnabar Opera (even the wind machine), with a samba group in San Francisco at Carnaval, and in the Petaluma Community Band, and flute with local garage bands.
For the past many years I attended JazzCampWest and took classes at the Berkeley Jazzschool. Primarily I studied voice, but added flute because I love Latin and Brazilian music. I also attend the acoustic California Coast Music Camp, an amazing community of old time, bluegrass, World, and swing players. Next I added Moab Folk Music Camp to continue study of songwriting. Thanks to these I have started a Ukulele Club, and oversee its Yahoo Group, Petaluke.
People I've studied with include (so lucky to live in the SF Bay area):
