Study in Blue and Grey
During my days as a sociologist, I became enamored by documentary film and photography. I took workshops and even did an undergraduate class on visual sociology. I initiated a Visual Sociology group in the profession, and wrote scholarly articles on the topic. I exhibited some of my photographs that documented country fairs of the 1970s. When music returned to consume more of my free time, photography waned. I have an enormous backlog of negatives to scan and edit, and more recent documentary work taken in digital color to transform into black-and-white, my preferred format. I've posted some travel photos in the meantime.
I miss the old thrills of images emerging in the dark room, though not the chemicals. My camera of choice has always been Nikon, and my preferred lens the wide-angle.
